Red Floods
Class 2 EWE
Red floods are a currently inexplicable phenomena that can occur whenever flash floods (or other flood events) are affected by SOL-2 ("the orange dwarf")'s anomalous light. (Similar frequencies of light emitted by SOL-2 are believed to cause other EWEs, including XX-Wave Solar Flares.) They are easily identifiable. During a Red Flood, all flood water present will shift towards a characteristically dark red hue (often described as looking like blood) and become completely opaque, even if it was completely clear before.
This event has only been known to occur whenever flood water levels reach above 3 feet. It also doesn't seem to affect rivers or other contained bodies of water - only natural flooding brought on by extreme tides, tsunamis, or storms. As such, coastal communities are most at risk of experiencing this event, especially during dark summer periods.
Hazards
While Red Floods (like any other flood) pose a danger to buildings and life brought on by swift currents and destructive water levels, this is not their primary danger. Red Floods are most known for their "Removal" effects. If a human being is ever entirely submerged in Red Floodwater, even if only for a brief moment, they disappear and are considered "Removed" from reality. It is impossible to confirm whether they have lost their life or were transported elsewhere. There has never been any trace found of any victims of Red Floods thus far. Not all organisms are affected - humans alone are affected by this phenomena, and plants, animals, and insects all seem entirely immune. For more information on Removal, see here.
If you are experiencing symptoms of Removal Denial Syndrome (RDS), it is paramount that you avoid future Red Flood events at all costs, as re-experiencing Red Floods with RDS puts you at severe risk for worsened RDS or declining mental health.
