Mitigation and Protetcion against Red Floods
Mitigation
As Red Floods seem to be caused by exposure to certain wavelengths emitted by SOL-2, there is no known way to actively prevent them from happening. They occur much less frequently in heavily clouded areas, or during non-dark-summer periods.Protection
As soon as you receive an alert that a flood may be occurring (or about to occur) in your area, there are certain key steps you need to take to prevent yourself from being at risk of being Removed. It is even more important that you take care to follow these steps if you're suffering from symptoms of Removal Denial Syndrome.
- Seek higher natural ground like hills or mountains.
- DO NOT retreat to higher floors of skyscrapers or other tall buildings, as these can be damaged or toppled in floods.
- DO NOT attempt to enter an attic to escape rising floodwaters, as it can easily trap you inside as waters continue to rise.
- If time allows, travel inland.
- Do not stay on a boat or other watercraft. They can easily be toppled, instantly submerging you in floodwaters.
- Stay out of floodwaters at all costs. Floodwater (especially opaque Red Floodwater) can hide fast-moving debris that may be able to injure you or cause you to fall over into the floodwaters without warning.
